Mallorca defeated Sevilla 4-1 in the match played today at the Mallorca Son Moix stadium for the 22nd matchday of La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football. According to the Argentine News Agency, the scorers for the home team were forward Vedat Muriqi and midfielders Samú Costa, Sergi Darder, and Pablo Torre, while for Sevilla, the equalizer was scored by attacker Neal Maupay. With the win, the "Bermellones" escaped the relegation zone and reached 14th place with 24 points, two more than the last three teams, while the team coached by Argentine manager Matías Almeyda is 15th with the same number of points. The first goal of the match came in the 25th minute with a penalty converted by forward Vedat Muriqi, who crossed his left-footed shot at medium height. The last goal of the match came in the fifth minute of stoppage time, when Pablo Torre controlled a through pass on the right, got rid of a rival, and shot against the goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos, to seal the final 4-1 score that took Mallorca, partially, out of the relegation zone.
